Scholarship Program

As part of its mission, Women in Technology of Tennessee is offering scholarships to high school girls as well as women returning to school in a Technology field.

  1. WiTT and T.W.I.S.T.E.R Traditional Scholarship. A scholarship of $2,500 and another for $1,000 were awarded to female high school seniors pursuing a degree in technology during the T.W.I.S.T.E.R event on February 12, 2011. This event is held at the Adventure Science Center for high school girls.

In 2010, Women in Technology of Tennessee has awarded $3,500 in T.W.I.S.T.E.R scholarships.

In 2009, Women in Technology of Tennessee has awarded $3,500 in T.W.I.S.T.E.R scholarships.

In 2008, Women in Technology of Tennessee awarded $8,000 in scholarships.

In 2007, WiTT increased its scholarship to $10,000. It was awarded as follows:

  1. WiTT-T.W.I.S.T.E.R Traditional Scholarship. 2 scholarships of $2,500 and $1,000 to female high school seniors pursuing a degree in technology during the T.W.I.S.T.E.R event on February 11, 2007.
  2. WiTT Non-Traditional Scholarship program. Women in Technology of Tennessee (WiTT) has established a scholarship with the goal of raising awareness and fostering development of women in the area of science, technology, engineering and research. Two scholarships of $2,500 and $1,000 will be awarded for the 2007-2008 school year to two female students working to better their careers.
  3. WiTT ATHENA Technology Scholarship. 1 scholarship of $3,000 to be awarded during the ATHENA Awards on March 29th.

In 2006, Women in Technology of Tennessee awarded $8,500 in scholarships:

  • WiTT has awarded 2 scholarships of $2,500/$1,000 to a female high school senior who has had technology significantly affected their life and plans to pursue a career in technology.
  • WiTT has awarded 2 non-traditional scholarships of $2,500/$1,000 to women returning to college to better her career in a technology field.
  • WiTT has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to T.W.I.S.T.E.R (Tennessee Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Research).  This event is held at the Adventure Science Center for high school girls.
  • WiTT contributed $500 to ATHENA Award scholarship program.
    For the year 2007, Women in Technology in Tennessee plans to increase its scholarships to $10,000 by increasing its participation in the ATHENA Awards scholarship program and creating a Technology oriented non-traditional scholarship for ATHENA.
