Archived Event2004 T.W.I.S.T.E.R. — Amy McDow receives $500 scholarship from WiTT
Amy McDow from Lincoln County High School was the recipient of the WiTT Scholarship. Amy plans (hopes) to attend University of Alabama. Girls 9th -12th grades had the opportunity to attend the Annual T.W.I.S.T.E.R. (Tennessee Women In Science, Technology, Engineering and Research) conference held February 7, 2004 at the Adventure Science Center. This year’s event gave teen women the opportunity to meet successful women scientists from a variety of areas of expertise, including physicians, forensics investigators, neuroscientists, engineers, technicians and paleontologists. Girl in attendance participated in several Workshops after an extensive tour of the Adventure Science Center.
